While reading the book In The Beginning by Alister McGrath, I happened to run across some of William Cecil Clayton's ancestors.

Archbishop Matthew Parker wrote William Cecil a letter concerning business associated with the Church of England. William Cecil, later Lord Burghley, became Queen Elizabeth's first Secretary of State. He died in August 1598.

Another ancestor was in the time of James VI of Scotland. James VI became James I of England. During his administration, there was Robert Cecil, who set in place the "Great Contract" which helped finance King James I.
