Alan Hanson Comments ERB-APA #56: A Reply

Alan Hanson - Thank you, sir, for taking the time to reply to my comments. I sense you are somewhat agitated because I made an opinion statement in ERB-APA #54. That was merely an opinion reply to an opinion statement you made in your article in ERB-APA #53.

"I think he realized that in his initial article, he had not fully considered all the evidence and possibilities, and being the perfectionist that he was, he needed to reassess the question, even if it meant admitting his first conclusion was wrong."

Is this a fact or opinion? It is certainly your opinion, but it is certainly not a fact. Therefore, I replied to an opinion with an opinion. In my opinion, John Harwood never forsook the 1872 "push back" theory, he merely joined others in looking at the question from a different angle. Please show me proof that John Harwood's 1872 article was self-admittedly wrong and that the 1888 article was the correct version.

I myself have formed in very great detail six different Tarzan chronologies. Two for the year1868, two for1872, and two for 1888. Naturally, in the very beginning, I believed in the May 1888 Greystoke's sailing date because Edgar Rice Burroughs, the author, said so. But to my amazement, if one believes that Tarzan was a human being living on our earth as we know it and that Korak was Tarzan's born son, the May 1888 Greystoke sailing date is impossible. No matter who does the 1888 chronology. John Harwood, Phil Farmer, Alan Hanson, or Mike Moody.

Alan, I respect the fact that you got your Leopold-Congo research from John Harwood, but I got mine from the Encyclopedia and other places. I know from my research, which has been presented in past ERB-APAs, that the Leopold-Congo incident could very well have occurred in 1872. This sir, is not my opinion; it is a researched fact.

Do not take my comments the wrong way. I truly loved your John Harwood article. He was, as you say, the greatest at what you and I do. John Harwood certainly needs to be honored, for he is the father of both the 1872 and 1888 Greystoke chronologies. The ERB-APA needs articles like this, and I am glad you were the one to do it. But...when it gets to the chronology part, you let your personal opinion creep in. Reread your article and tell me I am wrong.
