1884 Tarzan Of The Apes

Dste:  September 1, 1884, through December 31, 1884
Event:  Tarzan finds pencils in his father's cabin and learns to produce letters.
Source:  "Age twelve," ERB-Tarzan Of The Apes.
Chat:  Since ERB offered no data, any added would be theory only. Regardless a framework of some sort needs to be applied so a timeline can be established. Once again depending on the Burroughs Family Genealogy to provide a working date for the ape boy finding pencils. That date needs to be on or after September 1, 1884, through August 31, 1885. I have always found that the earlier is always better. Searching the Burroughs Chronology we discover the author Edgar Rice Burroughs was born on September 1, 1875. September 1 fits ERB's description perfectly so I will use it as a working date until a more researched one is supplied.
